iLife A4s Robotic Vacuum Cleaner Review

The iLife A4s vacuum cleaning robot is an advanced household cleaner. It picks its own way around the house, cleaning every room with impressive agility. Just press the Clean button on the machine and it automatically sets about its task. It moves strategically over the floor covering every square inch. No spot is left unvacuumed; even hidden dirt is scraped out and removed.

The appliance has an intelligent anti-collision system comprising of OBS sensors, 1 set wall sensor and 5 IR receivers. These sensors enable the vacuum to recognize barriers and prevent it from bumping into them. It alerts the device when it approaches an obstacle and prompts it to turn and reroute. This not only protects the machine from damage, but also furniture and small children playing on the floor. Further, the vacuum has IR sensors that constantly measure the distance between the bottom of the machine and the floor. If there is a sudden increase in the gap, it is a sign that there is a drop in front and the vacuum immediately changes its course. This is how it avoids staircases and stays out of harm’s way.

The iLife A4s has a cleaning area of 2100 square feet. It has a 3^rd generation Cyclone Power Cleaning System which offers optimal cleaning. It concentrates on areas that are dirtier than the rest and sweeps up even the tiniest debris. The machine has spinning side brushes that clean along the edges of walls and under beds. It maneuvers around clutter, scooping up dirt efficiently from corner to corner. It does not repeat an area it has already cleaned. It cleans systematically and does not get lost.

The device has many cleaning modes. It has automatic cleaning which makes for hassle-free cleaning with minimal human input. It has scheduled cleaning which allows you to schedule a cleaning anytime you like in the future. There is border cleaning for scraping out dust from the edge of floors where they meet the walls. There is mini room cleaning which cleans a small room more thoroughly in less time. There are also spot cleaning and maximum cleaning to suit different cleaning needs.

The robot cleaner works great with all kinds of floors such as wooden, tiled, marbled, granite and laminate floors. It is also suitable for undercoat carpets. It has a slope climbing capacity of 15 degrees and obstacle climbing capacity of less than 12 mm. Suction power at max mode ranges between 950 and 1000 Pa. It is strong enough to pick up dust, pet dander, human hair, sand, bits of paper and food. The device is only meant for dry dusting and sweeping. It cannot soak up liquids.

The machine has 4 built-in rechargeable lithium ion batteries that offer a cleaning time of 120±10 minutes. Battery capacity is 2500 mAh. There are 2 ways to charge the machine: manual and automatic. When the batteries run low, the vacuum automatically returns to the charging station, docks itself and recharges the battery group. It takes 200 to 350 minutes to be 100% charged. Once the charging is complete, the device resumes cleaning and continues till the entire area is cleaned.

The device has a high-performance filter to trap the incoming dirt. Having the filter ensures that the waste collected does not get out and mix with the indoor air.

The vacuum cleaner comes with a remote controller with an LCD screen. It has a range of more than 4 meters. It makes controlling the vacuum much easier. You can manage the functions right from where you are. You can also use the scheduling feature to plan cleanings in advance. It is a smart way to plan your daily and weekly vacuum cleaning chores. One big advantage of the iLife A4s is that it has a very slim body. It easily slides under beds and futons to clean remote corners and edges. Not a single spec of dirt is spared. The rotating side brushes remove even tough dirt trapped in gaps and crevices. The main brush rolls up dirt and the suction pulls it into the dust collection chamber inside the cleaner. There is a large brush for deep-cleaning carpets and rugs. Capacity of the dust box is 0.45 liter. It is sufficient for storing dirt collected on daily household cleanings.

The appliance makes very little noise. It does not exceed 65 dB. Power consumption is 22 watts and rated voltage is 14.4 volts.
