American Micronic-AMI-VC1-10Dx Vacuum Cleaner Review

The American Micronic-AMI-VC1-10Dx is a canister style vacuum cleaner for home use. It has a powerful motor with a continuous power handling capacity of 1000 watts and a max power of 1200 watts. It generates enormous airflow for scrape out tough and hardened debris.

The cleaner uses a Multi-Stage Filtration (MSF) process to remove impurities from the air as it enters the device through the inlet. It has a HEPA (High-efficiency particulate arresting) filter which traps fine dust, pet dander, hair, pollen, spores, sand and other particles present in the air stream.

The suction speed is variable. A button on the flexible hose allows you can adjust the speed according to your cleaning needs.

The AMI-VC1-10Dx is a bagged vacuum cleaner. It has a 2 liter removable, washable and reusable dust bag. The machine alerts you when the dust bag is full. There is a dust bag full indicator which lets you know when it is time to clear out the bag. Extra dust bags can be purchased separately. When the dust bag shows signs of wear and tear, you can buy a new one.  

The vacuum cleaner comes with a number of accessories. It has a floor cum carpet tool for extracting debris from carpets, staircases and floors. The tool rotates 360ᵒ and is suitable for wooden, tiled, marbled, granite, laminate and carpeted floors. It has a switch which when pressed thrusts out a brush with short bristles for cleaning carpets.

Remember to keep the brush inside when doing hard floors else it might leave scratch marks. The second tool is a crevice nozzle. It cleans narrow spaces that are hard to access. There is an upholstery brush with long bristles. It removes deep-seated dust from sofas and cushions. It can also be used to clean keyboards, book shelves and small decorative items.

Apart from these cleaning heads, the appliance has a flexible hose and two extension tubes. Both the tubes are 16-inches long and help you vacuum far-off places like ceiling corners and being and under furniture.

The American Micronic vacuum only has suction and no blower. It is meant to clean dry waste only. It has a round foot-operable power switch on top so you don’t have to bend to press it. The vacuum cleaner is available in red and blue. It has a tough plastic enclosure with oversized wheels for easy movement.

The top panel has the inlet which connects with the flexible hose. The panel clicks open to reveal the dust bag inside. The debris collected by the machine is deposited in the dust bag through this inlet. A removable frame holds the dust bag in place and prevents it from moving inside the cabinet.

The bottom of the bag is held together by a sliding clip. To dispose waste, click open the lid, remove the dust bag from its holder, slide out the clip, empty the contents into a trash can, slide the clip back on, snap the dust bag back in its original place and close the lid. Simple. You are ready now for a fresh round of vacuuming.

The rear side of the cleaner has a small holder where you can hook the floor cum carpet cleaner while you are vacuuming with another tool. It is a convenient feature as it lets you have a different tool close at hand in case you want to switch cleaners. The power cable is 2 to 3 meters long. It can be wound up and stored in the underbelly of the enclosure. This, however, has to be done manually.

All in all, we can say that if you are looking for an affordable medium-sized home vacuum cleaner, the American Micronic-AMI-VC1-10Dx is a great option. It is easy to use, portable and lightweight (3.5 kg). It takes care of regular household cleaning and keeps you home spic and span. Warranty period of the product is 1 year.
