Eureka Forbes Trendy Zip 1000-Watt Vacuum Cleaner Review

The Eureka Forbes Trendy Zip is a bagged canister vacuum. It has an input power of 1000 watts and a voltage of 230 volts. It has a suction force of 1900 mm of WC (millimeters of water column) which is sufficient to dislodge hardened dirt and loose litter trapped in cracks and corners.

The Trendy Zip comes with a number of cleaning accessories for vacuuming all kinds of surfaces. It has a floor cum carpet brush for cleaning carpeted, tiled, marbled, granite, laminate and hardwood floors.  The tool has a switch which when pressed pushes out a brush for vacuuming carpets.

The bristles on the brush scrape up dust and sand buried in floor rugs and mats. The second accessory is a crevice nozzle. It is the best tool for cleaning edges and corners. The third is a foldable multi-purpose brush. It has two cleaning heads, one with a brush and the other without. The brush helps access narrower spaces. The multi-purpose brush can be used to clean books, keyboards, artificial flowers, electronic equipment and decorative show pieces.

The gadget also has a flexible hose pipe with a variable switch. The switch lets you adjust the airflow according to your needs. Two extension tubes are also included in the package. They extend your reach and help you clean far-off corners. 

The vacuum cleaner has a useful Dust Bag Full indicator. It sends out a timely alert to notify you when it is time to empty the bag. The advantage of having the indicator is that it prevents the bag from overflowing and spilling its contents. It also enables the machine to maintain its suction force and operate at it optimum level.

To dispose waste, open the lid on top of the vacuum, ease out the dust bag, slide out the sliding clip, pour the contents into a garbage bin, reattach the clip, ease the dust bag back into its holder and close the lid. If the bag is too dirty, shake it vigorously to remove the dust. You can also rinse it in running water, but remember to use it only when it is fully dry.  

The vacuum cleaner has Thermal Overload Cut Out to protect against overload, overheating and sudden spikes in current. It keeps the circuitry safe and the machine running for longer. The power cord is fully retractable. When you press the automatic power cord winder, the cord is pulled in and stored inside the machine. When pulling out the cord take care not to pull it beyond the yellow mark.

The cabinet of the Trendy Zip vacuum is made from durable ABS plastic. It is mostly black with red highlights. It is compact and lightweight. The device measures 300mm (width) by 210mm (depth) by 185mm (height), and weighs 2.5 kg. It has large castor wheels for hassle-free portability. There is a power button on top which can operate by foot.

The gadget has onboard storage for all its accessories. It gives you a designated place to store the accessories and you don’t have to worry about misplacing them. You can have the tools in a ready-to-use position and also carry the vacuum from one place to another without removing the flexible hose.

The vacuum cleaner has a warranty period of 12 months from the date of installation against faults in design, workmanship and materials.

The Eureka Forbes Trendy Zip is meant for dry vacuuming only. It has suction but does not have a blower. It is suitable for deep-cleaning indoor spaces and even car interiors. It must, however, not be used to remove inflammable items like cigarette butts and matchsticks. Also, the vacuum cleaner must not be pulled with the power cord as it might damage the cord.
